Twills and the Rewards of Sampling
Last week I spent time weaving twills with some wonderful students. Every class has its own unique mix of student perspectives and experiences, and this group was absolutely delightful.
Pleated Bamboo
Time for some spring colors to make an appearance. Actually, bamboo is an all-weather fiber, and this pale green and blue paired with the white would transition well from icy winter outings to sunny lakeside picnics.
Oh, The Possibilities!
One of the best things about weaving is that the possibilities are virtually unlimited, and it would take many lifetimes to explore them all.
Plaited Twill
The hallmark of a twill weave is the diagonal lines that form as a contrasting weft crosses the warp. The classic example is good old denim jeans.
