It's been a hot and humid summer so far, and that's no news flash for anyone. Fortunately, I've been able to spend quite a bit of time at our guild teaching classes and private lessons, which I enjoy immensely.
Summer Encore
The leaves are turning to vibrant colors, and while the calendar says it’s autumn, we’re having a nice warm and sunny stretch.
I Like it, But...
The first time my work received a critique that began with "I like it, but...", my spirit sank just a bit, but I quickly learned to recognize this as both a compliment and an opportunity.
Pleated Bamboo
Time for some spring colors to make an appearance. Actually, bamboo is an all-weather fiber, and this pale green and blue paired with the white would transition well from icy winter outings to sunny lakeside picnics.
Something Old, Something New
I love it when a puzzle comes together. Case in point: a convergence of a traditional weave structure, a mathematical concept, and customer requirements, resulting in a unique set of kitchen towels.
Plaited Twill
The hallmark of a twill weave is the diagonal lines that form as a contrasting weft crosses the warp. The classic example is good old denim jeans.

There is, of course, no one right way to approach creating a new design. There are several elements to consider, any one of which can be square one.
