Shop Local for Fine Craft

Thanks to all who came to Fiber Fair last weekend. Despite the sloppy weather, we had a great turnout. If you couldn't make it, I'd like to let you know about another way you can find the perfect gift, and at the same time support local Minnesota artists.

ELINOR is a fiber art and jewelry boutique in St. Paul. The boutique currently carries the work of over 50 artists from the local area. It's a wonderful place to shop any time, but I invite you to stop in for Elinor's special November open house on Friday the 19th. So take a look, enjoy some treats and experience some truly special textiles and other unique gifts made by artists right in your neighborhood. There will be drawings for discounts and free gifts, and as always, chocolate. While you're there, don't forget to look for my Echo weave shawl, as well as a number of other new items I haven't even photographed yet!

Thank you for your support!

Locally Harvested Red Elm

8/4 Red Elm Planks

50 board feet of red elm has found its way into the studio. These three planks pictured below have very straight grain and I can't wait to find a project that can use this amazing wood. I purchased the planks from a local sawyer who specializes in milling and drying locally harvested logs. He takes great care in milling these special trees and it's an honor to check them into the 'wood library' here at Studio Tupla.
