It's time for Minnesota woodworkers to come together for the 28th annual Northern Woods, an exhibition of fine woodworking sponsored by the Minnesota Woodworkers Guild. Last year we had a great time. During the four days of this event, we met quite a few fellow woodworkers and had a chance to see a lot of beautiful new projects. The greatest reward from the show is discussing the pieces with visitors. It's always fun to hear their reactions to the work. A great learning experience. Be sure to check out last year's 'Best-in-Show'! Other award-winning entries from 2010 can be seen by clicking here.
I'm busy in the studio, working to complete a new piece for the show. If all goes as planned, the finish should be fully cured by the time the piece hits the exhibition floor!
If you are a woodworker in Minnesota, I hope you will consider entering a piece. Click here for the online entry form. Deadline for Entry is April 11, 2011. I highly recommend the experience. I don't think you'll regret it! And you don't need to be a guild member to enter. Amateurs and professionals are all welcome.
If you're not a woodworker, but never seem to get enough tree in your life, come on down to Southdale Center on April 28th - May 1st. You'll be glad you did. We'll see you there!
