The concrete slab for the garage has been poured and the the shingle roofing installed. With most of the roofs completed, some work has gone on inside to put up partitions and a stairway.
The screened porch and deck are taking shape with cedar posts and decking. Already looking forward to next summer!
We're anxious to get to the final grading and landscaping around the site, but the construction activity is still keeping us at bay.
For now, we'll just have to imagine what it will be like. Earlier this week, we visited a restored prairie in southern Minnesota. Below is a brief video of a bee and flower in that prairie taken during the recent solar eclipse.
For areas of the site that have to remain free of trees (septic, buried electrical cables, etc.), a prairie restoration seems like the way to go. Can't wait!
