The idea for this design began with a traditional Finnish towel pattern, a subtle checkerboard of alternating vertical and horizontal ribs. This updated version features blocks that vary gradually from narrow to wide, repeating across warp and weft. Blues and greens are rotated throughout to give many different shadings, with a bit of red and yellow for accents. Hand sewn hems. All cotton.

The handwoven lace resembles a larger scale basketweave pattern. Organic color-grown cotton.
